Cookie policy

1. Necessary storage
Learning progress and personal audio use IndexedDB; preferences and the ww-session sign-in session use browser storage; app files use the offline cache. Guest and account profiles are separate. These support requested features, not advertising. Browser storage is not all cookies. Audio is not included in ordinary JSON backups.
2. Optional diagnostics
Diagnostics default to off. ww-telemetry-consent stores yes/no locally. Allowed events contain limited usage and sanitized error data with pseudonymous identifiers, excluding study answers and email addresses. The server also processes the IP address to derive a hashed identifier and may set ww_analytics: a random identifier for up to 30 days, limited to the diagnostics path. Pseudonymous does not mean anonymous. The privacy page describes possible recipients.
3. External media
YouTube connects only when you press the button to load a video. Google then processes information including your IP address and may use its own storage technologies. This is separate from optional diagnostics. Google's privacy policy also applies: https://policies.google.com/privacy.
4. Choices and deletion
Turn diagnostics off anytime in Settings → Data. This stops future events without deleting progress, your account or earlier server records. If browser storage is blocked, the choice cannot be saved persistently; diagnostics stay off for that session. To delete your account, choose Delete account in Settings → Account where available. Export first and optionally keep a local learning copy. If unavailable, contact [email protected]. Clearing browser data alone does not delete an account. Earlier diagnostic, security and provider records have separate retention rules; deletion of every record is not promised.
